Tatsuru Arai
Experiential
Tatsuru Arai is an artist who fuses classical and contemporary music with AI and computer technology, developing concepts like "Trans-Ages Music" and "Hyper-Serial Music." His work explores cosmic and natural phenomena through sound and visuals, aiming to express a universal beauty beyond emotion and culture. His project Face of Universe links Earth's ecosystem with solar nuclear fusion, tracing the evolution of life and civilization, with city wildflowers symbolizing harmony between nature and urban life. Arai sees AI and technology as tools to expand artistic expression beyond human limits, blending classical traditions with digital innovation to reflect both science and beauty. His opera Vitruvian, performed in Berlin and London, exemplifies his aim to merge classical composition with new technology, creating perceptual experiences that reflect the universe’s geometric and physical structure.
He has performed and exhibited globally, including at Philharmonie de Paris (Nemo Biennale), Berlin Philharmonic Hall, CIKE (Slovakia), ISEA 2023 (France), Silent Green/Transmediale 2025 (Berlin), Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, Art Dubai 2025 (UAE), Dangdai Art and Idea 2025 (Taiwan), ACC Gwangju 2023 (Korea), RIXC 2024 (Latvia), Madatac 2023 (Spain), Share Festival (Italy), Sonica Glasgow, and Japan Fest in Lithuania. .
