LOGO ANIMATED ID

VICE approached Ardhira Putra to create a short VICE Logo Animated ID to showcase the wide range of creativity across VICE globally. The short film already airs on VICE TV.
The animation is themed around "Dark Side of the '90s," revealing the soul of the 90s through captivating pop culture moments, trends, and personalities.

“I worked on creating the title idents for Vice, which is a project I've always dreamed of. When Vice introduced me to their series 'Dark Side of the 90s,' I felt it resonated with me deeply as I grew up in the 90s, drawing most of my inspiration from its pop culture. I began by immersing myself in 90s objects, from a collection of cards and magazines to a Handycam and retro game console. Exploring these items, I aimed to create scenes that held personal significance to me. Among these objects, the television stood out. In the 90s, television served as a one-way communication medium to the audience, evoking a mix of emotions from entertainment to potential propaganda. The TV screen, or LED screen, held an addictive and hypnotic allure in 90s entertainment, captivating viewers. Consequently, the TV screen became the focal point of my design for the Vice idents.”
