Le.BLUE –Chronicles of Homo Sapiens

Le.BLUE is a London-based creative practice founded by Loanne Le and Matt Blue. The duo creates elaborate hand-drawn pieces using pen-and-ink, resulting in works that lie at the intersection of the surreal, sci-fi, and grotesque.

”Chronicles of Homo Sapiens” is a collection of original works and prints by Le.BLUE, delving into the intricacy of the human condition and psyche and how these relate to our modern times. The exhibition features mostly unseen pieces, exploring themes ranging from socio-political issues, the rise of technology, our relationship with the mystical, and the raw nature of our inner fears.

Rendered entirely in black and white, the showcase highlights their traditional pen and ink technique. These monochromatic works unfold narratives that are both noir and dreamlike, drawing viewers into a realm where the supernatural, the satirical, and the existential coexist.

Le.BLUE’s work spans across commercial, editorial, publishing and branding fields. Their clients include The New York Times, The Guardian and Financial Times. In 2022, they were longlisted for the AOI World Illustration Awards, and are frequently featured in magazines such as Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Communication Arts and Novum Magazine.

This is their debut solo show. Through metaphysical storytelling and dark, fictional realities, Le.BLUE captures the absurdity and beauty of human existence, creating art that feels both universal and enigmatic.
